Montana Community Reentry Task Force
WHO
We are a self-identified state-wide Community Reentry Coalition founded in February of 2021 dedicated to:
(a) cultivating a culture of successful reentry for the justice-involved population;
(b) promoting and facilitating state-wide communication, cooperation, and collaboration across communities, agencies, institutions, and organization in order to counter fragmentation and break down 'silo' barriers;
(c) reducing recidivism across Montana.

WHAT
We are a network of community-based coalitions, programs, providers, ministries, and individuals, working in partnership with the Department of Corrections (DOC), to assist justice-involved persons in successful reintegration into Montana communities.

WHEN
We participate in monthly zoom meetings with DOC Director Gootkin, DOC Staff and reentry programs across the state of Montana.
​
WHY
We are committed to working together to accomplish the following goals:

To improve communication, cooperation, and collaboration among local reentry efforts through monthly zoom meetings with DOC Director and staff;

To collaborate with, and support, the DOC in criminal justice reform.

To support the DOC in the following areas:​​​ a. Assisting and supporting rehabilitation and programs​​:
b. Creating and updating a comprehensive list of local community partners working to facilitate successful reentry of justice-involved persons.
c. Planning an annual statewide gathering of representatives from reentry programs with DOC administration and staff including probation and parole officers.
d. Sharing reentry success stories, news, trainings, meetings, and other relevant items on the DOC website.
e. Sharing research on evidence-based programs and potential funding sources to support successful reintegration of justice-involved persons into Montana communities and desistance from crime.
